Honesty in Advertising

There is a famous story about a man who went on to destroy broadcasting that said:

The ads are also working like gangbusters. Interestingly, I have used a similar "fact based approach" with two of my bedding retailers, Dial A Bed in Queensland and The Bedding Superstore in Perth. And they worked.

Also, they will work for any commercial business. So here's the thing...

If you can't find a media idea. If you can't come up with a good idea.

If you are stuck for creativity. Just try to be honest.

A recession is hurting our business. We will remove our products to install new ones.

We will fail if we do not use this product. Tell them your true story.

And while you're at it, be honest with yourself, because people love to hear your story and connect with you on a human level. Tell them you're having a problem. And it's why you got into business in the first place. Or how much money you need to generate money so you can take your kids on vacation and that's why you're giving this crazy gift.

Or whatever. But it won't work for sellers...

If you are a hairdresser, tell them that you need to paint the walls to keep things fresh. so you organize something special to make it happen as fast as possible.

If you are a dance teacher, tell everyone that you were bullied at school and that is what motivated you to get into the industry.
